Access Supply Chain triumphs at manufacturing IT Awards for 3rd consecutive year

Press Release - Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Access Supply Chain and two of its customers, Pobjoy and Timloc, have been shortlisted in the MITCON 2008 Best Manufacturing IT Awards.

The annual MITCON (Manufacturing IT Conference) Awards are organised by leading manufacturing IT magazine, Manufacturing Computer Solutions, and are designed to recognise the very best of UK manufacturing’s IT strategies and implementations.

The shortlisted companies were assessed for this year’s Awards by a panel of independent judges with vast experience of industrial and business IT.  In naming the successful companies, the organisers said, the judges were looking for “evidence of a return on investment, and the benefits that have led to improvements, cost-cutting and competitive advantage.”

The Awards have attracted a record number of entries this year, with submissions from more than 350 companies.  Both Pobjoy and Timloc have been shortlisted in the ‘IT in Manufacturing/Business Management (ERP)’ category, whilst Pobjoy has also been shortlisted in the ‘IT in Supply Chain Management’ category.

Timloc finance director, Davin Coleman, said, “We’re very pleased because this wasn’t just a case of replacing our IT system; we were refining our manufacturing processes to embrace best practice and we wanted a new software solution to reflect that.  With Access Supply Chain, we saw improvements immediately; it’s given us extra control that wasn’t there before.”

Pobjoy managing director, Taya Pobjoy, said, “This is well-deserved recognition for our people who, with no real IT expertise, took the challenge of implementing a brand new IT system in their stride. They were able to achieve what we did because the system is easy to implement and easy to use. Now, we’re running nice and smoothly - and we did it in less than a year.

Access Supply Chain managing director, Craig Such, commented, “We are delighted that for the third consecutive year our customers have been recognised in these Awards, especially when there have been a record number of entries.”

The winners will be presented with their awards at the MITCON IT Conference at the National Space Centre in Leicester on 11th June 2008.
